Maintenance Mode Notice

This FlexBend software is in Maintenance Mode. This means that the software is no longer in active development and most likely will not receive any future updates outside of bug fixes. However, it will continue to be sold, supported, and maintained. Custom features may be requested, however those changes may require additional cost.

There are many tube benders out there that still have a lot of life in them. Unfortunately the out dated and unsupported control software can let the bender down.

Many old bender HMIs only operate on ancient computer hardware that run unsupported and unsecure operating systems. On top of that many are reliant on proprietary computers and parts that have become hard to find and are often very expensive.

FlexBend™ will run on modern computer systems and operates on Windows 11. It requires no proprietary computer or control hardware.

Applications & Advantages

FlexBend is a great bender control for very low-end to high-end applications. It has been installed on benders with manual bend arms all the way up to machines with 5 tooling stacks, shear, and a loader. The major advantage of FlexBend is that the computer and control hardware it uses is not proprietary, and that the software itself it highly adaptive to many different machine configurations. It also has a very simple-to-use interface that quickly responds to touch input.

System Requirements

FlexBend can operate on relatively low system requirements and it will run on most modern Windows computers without issue.

Sequence Editor

FlexBend's Sequence Editor allows you to access each part's sequence and customize it by adding, removing or moving steps of the sequence to create a fully optimized part. Advanced users can drop cycle times significantly by optimizing part movements and blend moves to get the most of your machine.

Coding

FlexBend's machine code is open and not hard coded to allow Modern Motion technicians to edit and customize code if needed.

Pricing

Pricing starts at:

$17,900

.00*

*Pricing for the FlexBend control starts at $17,900.00 USD. This price includes the FlexBend software license, industrial fan-less solid state PC with Windows 11 installed, one Galil DMC-4183 Controller and two hours of training. This price does NOT include travel expenses, on-site labor, additional controllers (if needed), pedestal (if needed), or touch screen (if needed).

FlexBend requires a Modern Motion technician to be on-site to install the controller(s) and setup the software. This can not be done by the end-user. Depending on the age and condition of the machine it may require new drives and other components, all of which need to be provided by or paid for by customer. Installation normally takes 3 to 5 business days.

The Galil DMC-4183 that comes with the base price has support for 8 encoder axes and 16 inputs and 16 outputs. Machines that require more than 8 encoder axes will require an additional DMC-4183 (additional cost). Machines that require programmable pressures and/or additional I/O will require an Galil RIO-471xx.
